Meridian engaged by world class Yacht Builder

(Vancouver, British Columbia)  Calgary headquartered Meridian Merchant Capital Canada Ltd. today announced that it has been engaged to assist one of the world’s premier brand names in the yacht building industry, West Bay SonShip.

"The shipbuilding industry has taken a hit largely related to the meteoric rise of the Canadian dollar," explained Meridian President and CEO Keith Turner.  "This has created a unique opportunity for Westbay to explore off shore options for part of its manufacturing process in order to be competitive in the world market.  We have been engaged to advise and assist, as well as arrange financing for that expansion."

West Bay SonShip is a world reknowed builder of yachts, generally in the 50ft. to 110ft. range and  is the premier company in the yacht building industry in Western Canada and certainly the largest. The company has manufactured over two hundred high end yachts over the years and their boats are known for quality and workmanship.  The yacht industry is in a growth phase worldwide, up 8% worldwide in 2006.
