Patrick T. Shannon, BSc, MBA, CGA

After graduating with a degree in science from the University of Toronto. Patrick Shannon began his career in the family business, a manufacturing company specializing in providing turn key construction solutions to the hotel and restaurant industry. Starting on the factory floor Patrick eventually worked his way up to Vice President of the service division and had direct responsibility for liaising with McDonalds Restaurants and several national hotel chains.
After several years Patrick decided to obtain further experience and education. He spent 4 years with a national consulting firm in human resources and went to the Schulich School of Business at York University where he obtained an MBA in finance and accounting.
After graduation Mr. Shannon and his wife decided to go to British Columbia to set down new roots. A stretch with a national accounting firm was followed by a series of management positions with manufacturing firms, culminating in a senior accounting position with Pacific Brewers Distributors, the distribution arm of Labatt's and Molson Breweries in British Columbia.
During that time Patrick obtained his professional accounting designation as a Certified General Accountant and in 1991 he moved into public practice.
Patrick has taught courses at the Lucas Centre for Continuing Education in How to Start and Run A Small Business and How to Use Accounting Software.
He is/has been a member/director of the following organizations:
- Rotary club in West Vancouver
- Value for Services Committee - District of West Vancouver
- Library Foundation - District of West Vancouver
- West Vancouver Community Foundation
- Public Practice Advisory Group - Certified General Accountants of British Columbia
