As a business leader, entrepreneur, and investor Ron has a successful track record over nearly 20 years in the finance, oil and gas, and hospitality sectors in both Canada and the US.
Ron brings to MIP high level experience as an international investment manager licensed in both Canada and the US, VP level international sales and business development, and as a successful entrepreneur through multiple ventures in the entertainment and hospitality industry.
Fluent in French and conversational in Spanish, Ron has been a tireless leader and contributor to various charitable efforts including: Gordie Howe Cares Pro/Am Hockey Tournament, Hockey for the Homeless – Calgary Flames Alumni, Co-founder of “Octane – High Performance Mentoring”, Honorary Spokesperson for the Calgary Food Bank, Member of the Learn to Read Program in San Jose, CA, Ron Stern Charity Hockey School, Global Reach Children’s Fund, and the NHL Alumni.
Known as a leader and trusted teammate over his impressive 14 year career in the National Hockey League playing for the San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames, and Vancouver Canucks, Ron brings the commitment to excellence to the business world that is required to perform at a high level over a lengthy career in the premier hockey league in the world.
In addition to his various business roles, Ron enjoys spending time with family, golfing, skiing, hockey, mountain-biking, Marathon running, and weight-training.
