Mr. Ian Mellott has had a distinguished career, primarily in the financial services sector, where he has held roles ranging from CEO to National Sales Manager to Financial Advisor.

Career


He currently sits on the Boards of two private organizations and is President and Founder of Xcaliber Consulting Partners, a private consulting firm specializing in sales & marketing, operational efficiencies, corporate governance and corporate finance. Mr. Mellott also serves as Executive Director of sales and COO for Concierge Capital Partners, a boutique M&A Advisory firm focused on the North American mid market.

He began his career as a Financial Advisor with Richardson Greenshields and then moved on to become Vice President of Sales with United Financial, a mutual fund company. Following that, Ian became the Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at MRS Inc where he built the Sales department from the ground up and served on the Executive Committee where he was responsible for the P&L of the company.



Thereafter, opportunity arose allowing Mr. Mellott to become President and COO of Worldsource Financial Management, an MFDA registered firm where he was responsible for leading Sales and Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, IT and Compliance. In addition to his activities, Ian was ultimately responsible for the oversight of 892 licensed Advisors across Canada. Ian then transitioned into the role of Vice President of Sales with Clarington Funds before the firm was bought by Industrial Alliance. Mr. Mellott left Bay Street for a 10 year period where he founded, and assumed the role of CEO, of two private financial services firms in Strategic Product Partners and Capital Partners International, where he was responsible for all aspects of the day to day business. Ian was lured back to ‘Main Street’ financial services to assume the role of CEO of DIAM Capital Markets Inc (“DCMI”) and was responsible for overseeing all operational and sales aspects of the company.
