(Calgary, Alberta) Meridian Merchant Capital Canada Ltd. today released a statement from President and CEO Keith Turner acknowledging three major accomplishments for the company in the month of June, 2008.
Meridian participated in its first transaction of the newly formed Sports and Entertainment division, closed a significant acquisition for an existing client, and was honored by Keith Turner being named a Finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year, Prairie Region.
“It really has been a month to make me proud of our fabulous team and our business model”, said Keith Turner.
“Number one, we closed the first transaction in our newly formed Meridian Sports and Entertainment division, in which we arranged private equity to enable Oren Koules and his OK Hockey partners to complete the purchase of the Tampa Bay Lightening NHL team (see separate press release). Calgary based Managing Director, Randy Lennon was our key player in this deal.
