(Calgary, Alberta) Meridian Merchant Capital Canada Ltd. today announced a series of conferences to be held in Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver in early June. In partnership with The Business Edge newspaper and with major sponsorship from The BDC, Meridian Managing Director Randy Lennon says the first annual Access to Capital Conferences will address issues that are ‘top of mind’ for business owners in western Canada.
“To say that these conferences are ‘timely’ is an understatement,” commented Lennon who is organizing the interactive events at three prestigious venues. “Access to capital is the #1 issue facing small and medium sized business owners as the impact of the economic meltdown begins to sink in. Even though western Canada is faring better than other parts of the world, entrepreneurs are under the dual pressure of softening revenues and banks tightening up.”
The three half-day conferences will feature high profile keynote speakers for lunch, and then a series of expert panels on topics including supplementing bank lending through mezzanine financing and/or subordinated debt, how to properly present your company to banks, financial institutions, and investors, how your management team can buy you out using the company’s balance sheet, and growing through acquisition in a difficult economic environment.
